Subject: Grading of Australian banknotes.
I have decided after watching the internet carefully, to introduce grading, slabbing to banknotes of a superior grade. To both vendors and purchasers.
These being in almost uncirculated to Uncirculated grades, there appears to be a growing number of numismatic sites offering banknotes in such grades based on nothing less than their own evaluation. EBAY, GUMTREE, are sites to avoid when looking for premium banknotes.
The importance of correct grading, effects both price and the reputation of many dealers not involved in in over grading, and overpricing. These dishonest gradings are reminiscent of dealers going back to 2012-215, I thought there was an end to this dishonest practice, sadly through the above sites it has appeared once gain.
Auction houses in Australia are also guilty of incorrect grading, not all I would add, just the few that hold influence in the pricing of numismatic items through both public auction & online sales.
My intention is to use both PCGS and PMG both of which TRN are platinum members to provide this service.
It is a well-priced service for which you will receive a fully certified banknote in the return for the service, including a certificate number yours to keep, a grading number fully available online @ pcgs/service.com or at www.therightnote.com.au
I will only send your banknotes, when I am confident of the grade myself & verify this through grading/slabbing. In the above grades you can expect a grading of 50-64.
I regularly send both banknotes and coins to both registered Numismatic appraisal services twice monthly
For my clients who currently hold superior graded banknotes, I will be approaching you soon, to discuss how TRN go about providing this service to you, in every way this service provides YOU with security in knowing your banknote is exactly what you either, purchased or are selling.
To provide this invaluable service to clients of TRN there is a small charge for grading, packing and sending to the appropriate Appraisal service, we use FED EX to the USA, postage is free back to TRN.
It can add a great deal of money to your portfolio if you are selling and make the purchaser more alert to just what they have purchased.
The Australian numismatic market is slowly gaining some momentum, I would not like to think that the good work of honest dealers, will be undone, by the same opportunistic online sites that damaged our market in the years before.
This newly created service is something I recommend to all existing clients.
